How old do you have to be to cruise without an adult?
On sailings that start in North America, you need to be 21 to sail without an adult roommate. Sailings that start in South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, or New Zealand set that line at 18. Under that age, a guest generally cannot be assigned a stateroom unless an adult who meets the age rule shares it, with limited exceptions such as kids with parents in connecting or adjacent rooms, underage married couples with proof, and qualifying active-duty U.S. or Canadian military. A travel advisor can flag these rules before you lock rooms for a teen trip that looks simple on paper.
