When do I need to be back at the ship on port days?
Plan to be back at the pier about 30 to 60 minutes before all-aboard time, which you'll find in your Cruise Compass and the app. The ship really does leave on schedule, and a fascinating taxi driver still won't change that. Royal Caribbean excursions get a grace period if they run behind, but independent tours don't, so build in cushion for tender lines, traffic, and the detour you swore would take five minutes.
