What actually happens on embarkation day?

Embarkation day looks like chaos from the curb and mostly behaves if you're organized. Arrive in the arrival window you picked during online check-in, with luggage tags on your checked bags and your passport and boarding pass in your carry-on. You'll move through security and terminal check-in, scan aboard, and then you're officially on vacation. Your stateroom may not be ready yet, and checked bags often show up later like they're on their own leisurely tour of the ship, which is why a smart carry-on matters. There's a mandatory muster drill before things fully settle in, and the Windjammer and pools are usually open while everyone remembers how to walk on a moving vessel.
