Should I book excursions through the cruise line or on my own?
Royal Caribbean shore excursions come with one perk that really matters. If the tour runs late, the ship waits for you. Independent tours can be cheaper and more flexible, but the clock is yours alone, and traffic near the pier has ruined more than one confident timetable. Popular tours sell out regularly, so if something is non-negotiable on your list, book it early and stop gambling on availability.
